Arguably, the fight that most of the fans in Abu Dhabi are waiting for. Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Marc-Andre Barriault is a bout that is sure to crack and provide us with a spectacle. Magomedov loves fighting in Abu Dhabi, so it will be like walking in enemy territory for Barriault. The crowd is definitely going to be on Magomedov’s side, so we just have to see if he can deliver as everyone expects him to.
Shara Bullet was undefeated until his previous fight. He was a perfect 15-0 fighter until he met Michael Venom Page at UFC Fight Night 250. He was defeated by unanimous decision back then and was certainly outpaced by Page, as Magomedov couldn’t manage to get a number on him. Shara was definitely disappointed after that loss, and he enters this fight as motivated as ever to avenge his first defeat of his career.
Marc-Andre Barriault’s career is defined by lots of downs, but a few remarkable ups. He most recently dropped three fights in a row and was even KOed twice, by Joe Pyfer and Dustin Stoltzfus. However, his display at UFC 315 held at home in Montreal got his rhythm back. He defeated Bruno Silva via a spectacular KO that involved both elbows and punches. Barriault showed that his fists are still there to do the dirty work for him, he just needs to let them go.
However, doing so against Sharabutdin Magomedov can be detrimental. Shera Bullet is as tough as they come, and even though Barriault is one of the hardest hitters in the division, it might not be enough to put Shara away. For that reason, I see this fight mainly staying on the feet, but Magomedov doing enough to get a win. If given the opportunity, he could even finish things off with another flashy knockout, as Barriault’s chin has been cracked before.
